TDR Application 10: Delayed Dome Light

Dome light stays on for 15 seconds after closing door, and also turns on with keyless entry

Status: Units are built to order - Please expect up to 2-week delay after receipt of order until order is shipped

With a TDR connected as shown in the diagram below, you can make your car's dome light stay on for a while after closing the door, and you can also make the dome light turn on when you unlock your car with your keyless entry system.

As shown in the diagram, you will need to cut the wires from the door-mounted switches, and connect those instead to one of the trigger inputs on the TDR. The light will then be connected to the 'L' terminal, so that the TDR relay can turn it on and keep it on for the duration set by the turn-off delay setting. In addition, a ground-switching output from the keyless-entry system is connected to the other trigger input so that unlocking the doors turns on the dome light. Since you'll be using switches to ground to trigger the TDR, be sure to set the TDR for negative triggering by flipping the small switch on the back.
